Spring cleaning tips for Ottawa homeowners
While year-round maintenance is necessary to keep your home in the best shape, there are more specific, once-a-year chores that all homeowners should pack into their typical spring cleaning list. Keep in mind that well planned spring & maintenance cleaning can help you get your home ready for sale; if those are your plans OR it will help you keep a happier, healthier home the whole year through.
Buying a home in a Seller's market in Ottawa
When you're buying a home in a Sellers Market there are a few things that you should be prepared for. Unfortunately the market is not on your side (other than the low interest rates!). You'll see alot of competing offers, above asking price sales and disapointment. If you aline yourself with a trusted full time Real Estate professional you can guarantee a much smoother purchase. I hope you enjoy the few other tidbits of advice to help you through the process!
Should you overprice your home in Ottawa?
Since the spring market is just around the corner more and more Sellers are getting ready to put their homes on the market. I'm working with many Sellers who feel they can OVERPRICE their home since there is a low inventory right now in Ottawa BUT can they really? What kind of effect with this have on their sale and will it work? Sometimes being a Realtor means telling your clients things they don't necessarily want to hear but at the end of the day I'm working for you and in your best interest. My job is to sell your home for max value in the shortest amount of time and least amount of hassles. DONE & DONE.
Buying a condo vs. freehold unit
Many people think that a condo refers to an appartment style unit in a high-rise building. The fact is there are many different types of condos from bungalows, to semis, to row-units and including appartments. There are many pros and cons to purchasing either type of unit. Do your research and decide what the best fit is for you!

Don't lose your right to be represented!
Last week I met a great family who shared a very interesting real estate story/experience with me. I think it's important for Buyers to hear this and to know that they don't need to lose their right to be represented. Realtors in Ottawa are also hired to work for buyers and represent their best interests; take advantage of this FREE service and have an enjoyable stress-free homebuying experience!

Negotiating for your home in Ottawa
Last night I got to listen to @ErinBlaskie speak at my EMOttawa networking meeting. What an amazing business woman; she told us she broadcasts practically her whole life on the internet. She also said a few things that stuck with me: 1) Be Authentic, Transparent and Real 2) The Know, Like and Trust factor.
Having said that, I decided to broadcast this Friday's VIDEO Blog from my appartment after a normal day in my life as an Ottawa real estate agent. I'm glad I'm posting it because this is me after a long day (I talked entirely too much), just put my little man to bed, almost ready to pass out myself but I love what I do and I'm passionate about helping people.
Thanks to @ErinBlaskie again for her inspiration and I'm excited for my future video blog posts.

When is the best time to sell my home?
The most busy season in real estate is definitely during the spring/summer months. Having said that, as a Seller you'll be exposed to more competition and buyers will have more selection - you won't be able to have much flexibility in your price and it will take a little longer to sell your home due to increased inventory. In my opinion the best time to sell your home is when YOU'RE ready - wether we're in September, just before Christmas or in July; buyers are out there and are searching. Do what's best for you and we'll get your home sold - maximise your equity with the least amount of stress possible!
